2014 to 2015

MACC-III (Monitoring Atmospheric Composition and Climate) operated and improved data-analysis and modelling systems for a range of atmospheric constituents that are important for climate, air quality and surface solar radiation

Product lines include data records on atmospheric composition for recent years, data for monitoring present conditions and forecasts of the distribution of key constituents for a few days ahead.

MACC-III was funded under the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Union and provided the pre-operational atmospheric environmental service of Copernicus. This service complements the weather analysis and forecasting services provided by European and national organisations by addressing the composition of the atmosphere. The project comprised 36 European partner institutes and was co-ordinated by ECMWF.

The MACC project is now superseded by the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service. For more information, please see the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service website.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme under grant agreement number 633080.
